Do you know someone with neck pain?

A common approach to dealing with neck pain is taking drugs such as aspirin, analgesics and pain pills to mask or
tolerate the problem or treating symptoms with muscle relaxers, massages or hot packs. Neck pain certainly is not caused by the lack of drugs, so taking drugs
does not treat the underlying cause of neck pain. While muscle relaxers, massages and hot packs may feel good and help inflammation and tolerance, they
also do not treat the cause.
The chiropractic approach to neck pain, is to identify and locate the underling cause. The first step is a
complete case history and thorough examination. Dr. Rob Mayer will review your history and listen to your concerns, then perform a complete
examination and look for considerations such as the following.
- Is the spinal curve properly present?
- Are the nerve openings between each pair of spinal bones free and clear?
- Is the head balanced?
- Are the shoulders level?
Upon these and other considerations, Dr. Rob Mayer develops a plan to improve the motion and position of the
spinal vertebrae through specific chiropractic adjustments. With improved structure and function, neck pain often diminishes or totally disappears -
without addictive drugs or harmful side effects.
